我已經工作了一個夏天就為了掙這一毛

每次我約了寶貝出去約會

老闆總說：“沒門，我的孩子，你得加班。”

有時候我也想做點什麼

但夏日藍調已經讓我放棄治療

好吧， 爹媽告訴我：“兒砸，你需要自己掙錢，
The boss says 'No dice son, you gotta work late'
如果你下週日想藉車出去玩。”

我沒去工作，因為我告訴老闆我病了
But there ain't no cure for the summertime blues
老闆說你不能藉車因為活兒你一丟丟都沒幹

有時候我也想做點什麼

但夏日藍調實在病入膏肓
Well, my mom and poppa told me 'Son, you gotta earn some money

我要花上兩週玩個爽
If you wanna use the car to go riding next Sunday'
我要把這些煩惱丟到聯合國
Well I wouldn't go to work, I told the boss I was sick
我打給我的國會議員，他說
(Boss)'You can't use the car ' cause you didn't work a lick'
我很想幫你，但是你連毛都沒長齊

有時候我也想做點什麼

I gonna take my problem to the United Nations
Well I called my Congressman and he said quote
'I'd like to help you son, but you're too young to vote'
Sometimes I wonder what I'm a-gonna do
